Video Door Entry Systems
Video entry systems can be supplied in lots of
variations to suit particular applications. From internal and
external panels, weatherproof and vandal resistant, brass and
artistic, the list of combinations can be endless.
From simple 1 button to 1 monitor handset kits
that can be installed on residential properties and office environments,
multi button entry panels calling a number of apartments to digital
entry panels that combine multiple entrances and offer concierge
services there is a solution in the range. A real advantage of
using a video entry system is that it can also link into a building
CCTV system or
distributed through an apartment satellite TV system so that each
apartment can have a dedicated channel where occupants can view
the entrance from their TV.
Where vandalism is a potential problem then a
stainless steel video door entry system can be used. It is also
possible to obtain IP rating in entry systems where the rating
is directly linked to the vandal resistance properties of the
equipment in the fact that objects over 1mm cannot be inserted
through the face of the panel and all materials are fire resistant.
This rating also applies to the weather resistance of the system
against water flushing against the panel.
Video systems can have access
control systems built into them for the convenience of staff
and regular callers. It is common to have either a keypad
or a proximity reader
built into the video door entry panel to provide an override into
the building for staff.
Listed below are popular designs of video entry
units with a brief description of their features. Due to the nature
of video door entry, most system end up being bespoke solutions
so please make sure you contact Rednaus Ltd for a full system

Vandal Resistant Video Entry Kits
These kits are supplied in the same way as the standard
video entry kits with the exception that the entry panels
are manufactured from stainless steel and can be engraved
with building names and apartment numbers.
These panels are popular where vandalism is an issue
but they are also well used where stainless steel could
match with architectural hardware around the entrance
to give the right impression when entering a building.

DDA Style Entrance Systems
With the introduction of the DDA, it is now commonplace
to make reasonable adjustments to building to ensure that
disabled persons have access to it.
The DDA style panels are supplied in a stainless steel
panel and have Braille on the call buttons to indicate
the apartment being called, a huge benefit for people
who are visually impaired. The panel also has illumination
on it indicating when the caller has answered the handset
and when the door has been released and this benefits
people who are hard of hearing.

Video Entry With Access Control
This range works in the same was as the standard video
entry kits and can be supplied in standard or stainless
steel panels.
The added advantage is that access
control is incorporated into the entry panel.
The access control can either be a keypad
to give a code entry without using the intercom or a proximity
card entry.
These systems are ideal for main entrances into schools,
public buildings, offices, doctors surgeries etc allowing
staff to come and go freely while visitors have to use
the intercom.

Digital Video Entry Systems
Where a large number of apartments are being controlled
from either a single or multiple entrances to a building,
it is ideal to use a digital video entry system.
The system uses a numeric keypad and LCD display so that
the user can type in the apartment to call. This saves
on space and looks far superior to a panel containing
lots of individual numbered buttons.
When utilizing digital technology, it is also possible
to divert calls to other apartments or a concierge for
screened calling or privacy.
As the panel has a digital
keypad, an access code comes as standard to allow
residents or workers into the building. It is also possible
to incorporate proximity
card readers into the panels.

also diversity in how the monitor handset would look inside
the apartment.

designs that will compliment the feel and atmosphere of
any apartment and with the benefit that a sleek design gives
the right impression to any potential client.
