Exit Switches & Devices

Rednaus offer a full range of exit switches, power supplies and ancillaries to complete any access control system and although the range can be endless, listed below are common popular items that will be required or compliment any access control installation.

Exit Buttons

Every access control system has a requirement for an exit button.

Whether the button is being used to exit a door with a magnetic lock on it or if the button is used to remotely release a door from a reception area then the buttons are very useful accessories to use.

Rednaus offer a full range, some of which are illustrated alongside. From light duty plastic buttons, heavy duty stainless steel, domed impact buttons, touch sensitive, stainless steel, brass or to comply with DDA requirements. There is a button to suit your application and fit in with the architectural scheme of the building.

Key Switches

Key switches are very useful accessories that can be incorporated into access control or automatic door systems.

Generally a key switch will give you an override to either unlock a door or enable/disable a device.

For example, a common application would be to link a key switch with a magnetic door lock so that the door can be left unlocked during certain times. In this case the key switch would break the power to the magnet and unlock the door until such time as the action is reversed. Other applications include using the switch as a trigger for a roller shutter door system or as a secure switch to activate an automatic door operator.

A particular feature of a key switch is the ability to accept particular cylinders. By doing so it means that the key switch can be seamlessly incorporated into the master key suite of a building.

Microswitched Panic Bars

Using a panic device is common in a building where fire exit regulations are in place, but what happens when you have an electric lock in place on the door that a standard panic device cannot work with?

For this reason, microswitched panic bars are the common solution. These bars are installed onto an electrically locked door and they contain a switch which will kill the power to an electric lock and thus unlock the door.

These bars comply with fire regulations and can also be supplied painted or anodized to suit the architectural scheme of the building.

Break Glass Units - Call Points

Any door that has an electromagnetic lock fitted to it has a requirement to have a break glass unit fitted.

While such doors should be connected to the fire alarm system to unlock in the event of an emergency, there are always situations where the door needs to be temporarily unlocked where the fire alarm has not been activated.

Break glass units do this for you. They are either activated in an emergency to kill the power to the door or they have an override key that is inserted and this breaks the circuit.

Unlocking the door in this way keeps the door open, it does not re-lock on an auto timer and it allows people to exit the door safely.

Various styles of break glass unit can be supplied to suit your particular application.

Power Supply Units & Batteries

Every access control system needs power and Rednaus supply a full range of power supplies and accessories to do the job perfectly.

Power supplies of various ratings and capacities are used to ensure that power is evenly distributed across the system.

Our range is designed so that you wont need to worry about spikes or drops in voltage affecting your system as the regulated units have built in electronics to control such events.

Power cuts are also not an issue as we have a range of batteries that are fitted into the supplies to keep the system operational for an amount of time, hopefully until the power is restored.
